About / Disclaimer

• I just did this for fun. I do not think that this is really the best way to rate websites.
• Alexa's ratings seem to be based on the number of links to pages within either the domain or the user within a domain if the user has a tilde (for example ~username) in front of the username/directory.
• This means some links get a much higher rating since what's being rated is their material plus other material within the same directory.
• This probably means commercial companies which pay for advertising that links to their sites, get a "paid for" higher rating.
• Some websites have moved to new domain names or have more than one operational domain name. In this case, one should assume that if all pages were actually on the same domain name, the rating would be higher than that indicated by Alexa.
